Amsterdam rocker's brand of indie pop + pop-punk tunes
Alex Lahey’s and Pip Blom’s show is part of DDW Music: a multi-venue music festival during Dutch Design Week that includes performances by 70 emerging acts over a dozen venues throughout Eindhoven.
A jazz saxophonist by training, Alex Lahey switched to guitar and hasn’t looked back. Her unapologetically energetic pop-punk tunes are a bit more straightforward than fellow Melbourne indie chick Courtney Barnett, falling on the power-pop side of the Strokes.
At 20 years old, Pip Blom is ready to take on the world. The Amsterdam rocker’s brand of indie pop splits the difference between her personal favs Arctic Monkeys and Lily Allen, with the blues-y lo-fi
attitude of Waxahatchee.
