ABOUT THE NEW EP :”BAND IN THE MODERN WORLD”

"BAND IN THE MODERN WORLD" is the new EP from Tel Aviv/Berlin trio TV BUDDHAS.  It features five new songs, oozing with Wipers/Husker Du influenced overdrive.  The EP was recorded in just less than an hour on their last winter tour in Europe, in a small studio in the city of Graz, and was later mixed by Steve Fisk, who produced the Beat Happening and worked with the likes of Nirvana.

"BAND IN THE MODERN WORLD" underlines the BUDDHAS’ amazingly natural way of musically corresponding with the underdog punk sound of the early eighties in the USA. The new EP is packed with naive, melodic hardcore and sincere outsider lyrics, as if taken out of another time.

TV BUDDHAS will be touring Europe in 2012 all spring and summer long, doing dozens of club and festival shows to promote this EP.

The EP will be released by TROST Records, of Vienna.

ABOUT TV BUDDHAS

The TV BUDDHAS, currently based in Germany, but originally from Tel Aviv, have been playing their own blend of alienation drenched garage-punk for the past five years, first as a duo and later as a trio. Their music is reminiscent of The Wipers and Dead Moon, with a heavier, Stoner guitar sound, and minimalistic drumming played on a stripped down kit. The band consists of husband and wife Juval Haring and Mickey Triest, and sibling Uri Triest. 

Since leaving Israel in 2007 they have released numerous tour CDRs and cassettes, 2 LPs, an EP and a 7 inch record on both the Austrian label Trost, and the German label Staatsakt, all in the midst of intensive touring, sometimes playing over 200 shows a year. 

The band’s old school modus operandi is their signature: Their records are all self produced one take economic recordings, their massive tours all self booked and managed, they work only within a circle of friends and sustain themselves mainly from the work of the band. Subsequently, they have become known as one of the most sincere and hardworking underground acts to come out of Europe.
